"maybe death is a gift..."

Damn, this is one ugly motherfucker isn't it? Well, I would hope for no less, from a tribute image for my musical genre of choice - death metal. I love my death metal with an unholy passion. So I gathered up as many death metal band logos as I could find and assembled this pseudo-collage style mess of an image. I tried to get in the best possible mix of classics, modern and underground bands with as much style and picture variety as I could. It would have been nice to get every death metal band in here but that would be beyond impossible, even with all the time I have to kill. Only someone like me could waste as much of his life on an idea like this... Anyway, this is all assembled in PaintShop Pro 8, as usual, from logos provided mostly by the bands themselves or the record labels. I don't know why I decided to make this a 1600x1200 size image because I can't imagine anyone would ever want to use it as a wallpaper - way, way too damned sloppy, it'd be impossible to find anything. But, hell, if anyone wants to use it on their desktop, please help yourself.

I started off with some of my favorites among the basic, old-school death metal bands like Death, Morbid Angel, Grave & Obituary, then worked outward from there. I obviously didn't limit myself to pure death metal, so don't give me any bullshit just because you may not consider melo-death or death-thrash to be "tr00" death metal. If that means I'm not "tr00" enough, I can live with that. You, on the other hand, can "tr00"ly fuck off & die... I've in fact included a pretty variety from the various subgenres here: bands like The Haunted and Dimension Zero are closer to thrash than death, while Strapping Young Lad and The Project Hate MCMXCIX are on the industrial side of death. but it's all shades of death to me. Subgenres are a bitch, so I say fuck 'em. If you want to debate a certain band's right to be labeled as "death metal" in any extent, please direct all inquiries to our complaint department

Now, if you're wondering why your favorite death metal band isn't represented here, there are several possible explanations. (1) they're not even remotely close to death metal, you're just an idiot. (2) I truly hate them and didn't want to give them any recognition whatsoever. (3) they're more of a grindcore or gore/grind band, which will probably be my next undertaking in my series of ugly band logos collages.
